Sunday Shenanigans 07/22/2012

The girls are getting excited about our pioneer trek this week.  They love to wear their bonnets all the time.

We pretty much lived on the trampoline this week.  The weather has been really hot so we usually jump early in the morning or right before bed time.  Lily especially loves it when Daddy comes out to jump too.

During my Zumba class on Monday, Annie decided to color all over her legs with marker.  This photo washes it out and doesn't do the mess justice.  She was red from hips to ankles!

Daddy teaching a Family Home Evening lesson on obedience.  He started by playing Simon Says.

Lily still lives for gymnastics and tries her best at every class.

The hot weather made us feel a little lazy toward the end of the week.  One day we just sat under the fans and watched movies while eating popcorn and popsicles.  Ahhhh.....this is the life!

Daddy got to have a break from the office and went hiking near Driggs with some coworkers.  They did a little cave exploration and enjoyed some beautiful country.

This week if we weren't on the trampoline, we were in the splash pool.  The girls would go back and forth between the two all day long.  One day Annie insisted on wearing her hat and sunglasses all day long.  They love to get in the water until they're so cold they can't stand it, then they hop on the trampoline until they're so hot they have no choice but to get back in the water.

The tramp is also our only backyard shade so we like to eat lunch under it.

A first thing in the morning jump to start off the weekend!

Saturday morning we were up early for a 7:00 a.m. 5k at the church.  Followed by a pancake breakfast and a pioneer parade.  Annie got to ride in a handcart.  Lily had fun pushing.  I hope they are ready for the trek this week.  It is going to be hot and difficult.

After the pioneer activity, we drove up to the trek trail to mow down our fire pit locations and a spot for the hoe-down.  The girls loved exploring in the groves of trees and eating a picnic lunch while the grown ups worked.  We are a little nervous about trekking with the girls, but we believe it will give us a deeper appreciation for what the pioneers who share our faith went through.

Glorious days of summer! Annie is starting to photograph smiles really well. Love that. I am anxious about the trek too. But the girls are troopers and will do their best. I think they'll love the adventure of it! Best blessings and luck, Mom & Dad!
