More Monkey Business

We finally got to take Daddy to the zoo. He saw this Lily Pad sign and wanted to get a picture.

Somehow with Puna and Papa we missed the penguins. Lily liked the statues outside their exhibit.
We're still playing with the box the freezer came in. It makes a great little hideout for Lily. On Friday Daddy came home and found us like this inside the box. I love Lily's face.

Lily has become quite the climber. She can get on to any chair, couch, bed, etc. in the house now. The other day I heard her playing the piano - which she does all the time, but when I went to check on her, I found her standing on the bench and rocking out.

Lily's other favorite thing to climb is the computer chair. She knows what to do with the keyboard and the mouse and loves to look at the screen. I've had to start putting the chair away when we're not using the computer so she won't hurt herself...or the computer.

It seems like she finds a new place to climb every day. She really is our little monkey.

A Monkey in the Tub

Oops! How did that middle picture get in there? You've got to admit, they're sporting the same hairdo!

Family Night

We took Lily swimming at a local pool for Family Home Evening. The water was cold! She didn't last too long. But we still had fun and it helped get her really sleepy for bed time.

After swimming Daddy tried pouring some of the hot tub water slowly over Lily to warm her up. She tolerated that for a while and then just wanted to be done. We dried her off as best we could and wrapped her in two towels plus a blanket for the short drive home. She was happy to see her warm jammies and blankie waiting for her. Maybe we'll wait for summer before we try this again.

Big Box

What's more fun than getting a brand new appliance? The box it comes in of course! The Wanners gave Mommy a freezer as an early birthday gift and we picked it up today.

Lily played with the box all afternoon while I taught piano lessons.

And then she played some more once I could come out to join her.

She ran and crawled in and out of it for hours. Laughing all the way.

I am so thankful for the gift and also the box it came in because it gave Lily hours of enjoyment.

Play Time with Puna and Papa

While Puna and Papa were here we visited the park every day.

Lily likes to ride the slide and the swings.

Papa was a great swing pusher. Lily would give him a high-five every time she came close.

First Trip to the Zoo

Puna, Papa, and Uncle Brady came to visit us this week. We decided to take Lily to the zoo. It was a cold day, but we had a fun time together.
The first animal we saw was a snow leopard. Lily was wearing her shoes that squeak. The leopard liked the squeaky sound and wanted to play.

After the leopard, we saw a "giraffe". Actually, it was a slide built to scale. Here are Brady and Lily climbing up the backside.

After the slide we found the prairie dog exhibit which had a tunnel to walk or crawl through. Lily loved it.
After seeing a komodo dragon, we found one to climb on. Lily did not enjoy getting this close to the komodo. She hopped off as fast as she could.

Then she turned around and yelled "No! Stay!" to the statue before running away from it!

Her favorite exhibit was the rain forest. She loved getting close to the spider monkeys.

And they seemed to enjoy her too.

Puna showed Lily these gorgeous tropical birds. They would sing and fly around for us.

They watched the birds together for a long time.

Just outside the rainforest exhibit we found another slide. Uncle Brady was happy to help Lily down this slide too. After the rain forest we visited the African plains. Lily wasn't too interested in the animals. She wanted to play in the village granary.
It took a lot of convincing to get her out of here. But we eventually finished visiting all the animals in the zoo. We can't wait to go back and show Daddy everything we saw.
