19 Months
Whew! The past month has flown by. Lily hasn't changed much from 18 to 19 months. She still loves to be around Daddy and do whatever he is doing.
She still loves to make us laugh and likes being the center of attention.
She still loves the camera and always wants us to take her pictures. Even if she has a dirty face and dirty shirt - which is pretty much all the time....see photos above and below.
Favorite songs: The Wheels on the Bus, and the ABC's - she can get up to letter D and then she starts making it up
Favorite book: Go Dogs Go!
Favorite foods: yogurt or pudding, strawberries, cucumbers, and chocolate milk
Last week I bought some chicken nuggets at the store for her to eat. She refused and reached for the cucumbers and carrot sticks. What kid won't eat chicken nuggets? She did eat all the ketchup though.
Lily still isn't a big TV watcher. She'll stop to watch for maybe 2-3 minutes. But she has taken notice of Barney, Sesame Street (especially Elmo), and any show with a monkey - she doesn't care if it is animated or live, she just loves to watch monkeys.

Mother's Day
Saturday night Jeremy took me out to dinner. Then Sunday morning he woke up and made breakfast. We had eggs, OJ, orange rolls, and strawberries. Lily was so excited about the berries she couldn't wait for the prayer.
This is how she folds her arms for a prayer. It looks like she's ready to go down a water slide.

Date Night for Bishop
The Beehive class in our ward gave us a date night this week. They brought over a fabulous dinner complete with flowers, candles, and table setting and took Lily for two hours so we could relax together.

Each young woman in the ward also wrote a thank you note to Jeremy to thank him for all his service. When we sat down to bless the meal I cried. During dinner we read each of the notes. It was such a nice gesture. Lily had fun playing with the girls. She didn't seem to miss us. We had fun eating a relaxing dinner and snuggling on the couch to watch LOST. The time passed all too quickly, but it was nice to take a moment and reconnect. Thanks girls! We will never forget this night.

Sorry the pictures are small. They were from an email my Dad sent. Click on the pictures to see them a little larger.
Air Vent
We have central air conditioning in our house, but the upstairs still gets warmer than we'd prefer in the summer months. Jeremy and his Dad installed a vent on the west side of our house to help move air through the attic. We have a vent on the east side, but the air had no escape. They did the whole project in just a couple of hours. We're hoping it will pay off this year. Jeremy is pretty proud of his work. Here's a few pics:

18 Months
This post is a couple of weeks late. Lily turned 18 months on the 21st of April. She seems to be developing so quickly now. We're amazed at the things she learns to do each day. Here's a glimpse of what she's been up to.
Coloring and drawing are new favorite activities.
She has started climbing on everything. The first thing she mastered was the toilet so she could play in the sink with the water. Luckily, Mommy caught her this time before the water was turned on.
She loves to read books to herself. In the mornings she'll sit on the couch or the rocker in her room and look through books.
Her new favorite toy is this baby buggy. It was given to us by a neighbor friend. She pushes it around the house and the yard all day long. Poor monkey is getting an upside-down ride!
Since starting nursery in church, she is obsessed with bubbles. She can say the word and she loves to play with them....all the time. Mommy figured out we can avoid messes by limiting bubbles to the bathtub until the weather warms up.
Her favorite parent at the moment is Daddy. They love to play together. She follows him around the house when he's home. What a pair!
With Baby #2 on the way, Mommy is trying to encourage independent behavior. We've been working on walking up and down the stairs, brushing teeth, getting dressed, and eating without help from Mommy or Daddy. Lily is enjoying trying to feed herself. Most of the time it is a disaster.....see above. She still has five more months to practice, and she does get better at it with each attempt.
To help with Baby #2's arrival, we're playing with baby dolls a lot. We talk about how much they need love and want to be held and the importance of being gentle with our babies. She likes learning about their hands, feet, and faces. She has two baby dolls which get frequent rides in the buggy. When the dog tries to investigate the babies, Lily gives the dog a good scolding. Nobody touches the babies.
