Silly Little Lily

Our silly girl has a lot to say lately.  Here are a few of our favorite funny things from the past month:

1. "We're eating chickens for dinner?  But not their faces, right mommy?"  Our neighbors raise chickens and Lily likes to watch them.  She was horrified to learn that we were having chicken for dinner the other night.  For some reason as long as she doesn't have to eat their faces she can handle eating chickens.

2.  Lily counting to herself, "24, 25, 26, 28....". Daddy says, "you forgot 27."  Lily replies, "I know! Where is it?"

3.  Learning about potty training and how our bodies work. "I eat the beans and they go down my throat into my tummy, then they go down my leg, and then the poo poo comes out my bum."  If only it would then go into the toilet!

4.  Noticing earwax in Annie's ear Lily says, "Mommy Annie has boogers in her ear!  Can you get them out?"

5.  And for some reason since Christmas she keeps talking about how much she loves her "new" family.  We're not sure where the old one went, but at least she loves us whether old or new.

Sunday Shenanigans 01/29/12

The highlight of our week was a trip to Salt Lake City, UT to see comedian Brian Regan.  Puna gave Daddy the tickets for a Christmas gift.  We had a great drive and enjoyed hours of kid free time.  We took Jake and the woman he is dating out to lunch.  After the show we did a little shopping and drove back home.  It was a glorious day.

This week Mommy went to a card making class.  I made four different cards.  It was fun to do something creative and spend time with my girlfriends.

Lily is really into music lately.  She wants to sing, play, and dance all the time.  After church she pulled out her new drum and sang us some Primary songs.

Lily loves puzzles.  We bought her a new one while we were in Salt Lake.  She couldn't wait to start putting it together.

This week Annie only wanted to eat bread.  She is usually a pretty good eater but all she wanted was wheat bread or tortillas - just plain, no butter or jam.  And she wanted to carry the bread with her everywhere she went.

Both girls have come down with a cough.  We're hoping it will pass soon.  Annie seems more affected by it.  Other than that we are doing great.

Back to our Routine

We have been busy and very sick since the holidays.  I think we are all healthy again and almost back to our normal routine.  Here are just a few snapshots from the week - to show our grandmas -and you - what we've been up to.

We are enjoying playing together and laughing together.  Daddy loves that it is January again and he is not beginning a tax season.  We have started looking at homes to buy in the area and we have also met with a builder.  We're hoping to be in a home by springtime.  Lily is still busy with gymnastics.  Annie came down with tonsilitis and a 104 fever.  She is all better now.  Christmas pictures coming soon!
