Temple Square

I love Temple Square in Salt Lake. Each time I walk through the gates I feel a rush of awe and gratitude for the pioneers who settled this area and sacrificed so much to build the beautiful temple and surrounding buildings. This is also the place where my parents and my in-laws were married, so it is the foundation point for my family. I was so excited to share the beauty of this place with the girls.
Pretty little Lily next to the great big temple.

Annie was a real trooper and let lots of people touch her and talk to her. I was stopped so many times by people who were amazed that I have two redheads.

On our first day in town we ate lunch on this bench in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. We had a great view of the mountains and downtown. And we were the only ones there in that spot.

Lily was a great helper. She was so excited to be able to touch (climb on) the temple. There were so many brides on the grounds that day too. Lily loved all the beautiful dresses.

This is my favorite spot on Temple Square. Lily saw the statue and yelled "Jesus!" then she ran to him and tried to climb up and touch him. There were a lot of people in the visitor center that day so I couldn't get a shot of the girls near the statue. But we did sit on a bench for a few minutes and sing "I Am a Child of God." Lily loved singing to Jesus.....and so did Mommy.

He lives, my kind, wise heavenly friend.
He lives and loves me to the end.
He lives, and while he lives I'll sing.
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.

He lives! All glory to his name!
He lives, my Savior, still the same.
Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives:
"I know that my Redeemer lives!"
