Sunday Shenanigans 08/26/2012
After hours of hard work, the shed is finished. I love looking out my kitchen window to see this cute red barn next to our garden. Jeremy and Papa worked so hard to get it started and Jeremy has done so much on his own. We are really happy to have it finished and we're so proud that we did it ourselves.
This is how we look on Sunday mornings. While Mommy and Daddy get ready for church and make all the necessary preparations, the girls have a free for all in their toy room. This morning they played so nicely and had a good time together.
We thought we might not get raspberries this year because they come on later here than they do in Boise. but our bushes are bursting with blooms and berries. We expect to be making a lot of jam in the coming weeks.
Our week was pretty quiet. Mommy has been a little under the weather. But we did venture out on Thursday for a play date to the zoo with our friend Sarah and her mommy. Annie's favorite animal was the giant tortoise.
Sarah's favorite feature is the drinking fountain that looks like a lion's mouth.
Lily liked the lion and the tiger. She kept roaring at them hoping to get a response, but they were too hot and tired.
All three girls were captivated by the camels. We had a wonderful time playing at the zoo.
Our county does a bed race fundraiser each year. Various teams sign up and race a bed down Main Street in town. This year there was also a raffle, childrens' pajama parade, and yummy food. Lily loved the parade. She was waving to everyone and dancing to the music. She was eating up all the attention.
We were cheering for this bunch of buccaneers. They are some youth from our church and they were racing for the city library. They almost won. It was exciting to watch them.
Lily mostly wanted to dance. I love the pure joy on her face. Oh to be a kid again, and dance in my pajamas, in public, at noon on a Saturday, without caring what the world thinks!
This is the police department's racing bed. They have a sign on the bed that reads "1J Drivers". People in our county have a 1J at the beginning of their license plate numbers. People in our county also have a bad reputation in the area for being terrible drivers.
We really had a ball. Life is so sweet is a small town with friends and family you love. We are so happy to be here and enjoy a quieter and slower life.
