New Year at the Cabin

We got to spend New Year's at the family cabin. There was so much snow! Lily was fascinated by all the white. She loved looking out the window.

Lily decided to spill her entire bag of cereal all over the floor. Akela was not complaining.

When it was time to go outside, we went through quite a production to get dressed for snow.

Once we got outside, it felt pretty warm - considering the conditions.

Lily was happy to explore on her own. It was cute to see her try and walk in all her gear.

She was having so much fun, we decided to try giving her a ride in the sled.

She just laid back and went along for the ride. She giggled the whole time.

It started to snow while we were out so Mommy picked Lily up to check on her.

Lily wanted right back in the sled! She didn't mind the snow hitting her face.
Here is Lily posed to model the latest in baby snow gear. Such a cutie!

Our little angel - trying to make a snow angel.

We had fun with Josh, Chelsea, and Madilyn too. Madilyn is Lily's cousin. The girls are about six weeks apart in age.

Akela loves coming to the cabin. Summer is her favorite time because she can swim all the time. But she seemed really happy on this trip too. She even stayed on the property the whole time without needing a leash.

Instead of snowmobiles, the guys rode four-wheelers in the snow. Lily and Mommy were content to stay inside because we had bad colds.

Lily has started wandering around with her blanket on her head. She thinks it is really funny...until she crashes into something. She's sporting some nice bruises on her forehead from her most recent blanket adventure.

Cute cousins staying warm in the cabin with their blankies.

We love our girl's beautiful brown eyes.

Lily and Madilyn were so funny together. Lily kept stealing toys from Madilyn and then running to make her getaway so she could keep the toy. Madilyn hasn't been walking very long so she didn't stand a chance. Thank goodness Madilyn was a good sport. We're really going to have to work on teaching Lily to share.

In spite of Mommy and Lily being sick, it was a great trip to the cabin. We've had so much time with Daddy over the holidays, it will be hard to see him go back to work.

It was great to see Josh and his family. They don't make it up here every often. Lily's first adventure in the snow was a success. She must be a winter girl like her Mommy. Thank you Grammy and Grampy Hall for helping us have such a wonderful time together.

You're such a sweet family. I hope you're feeling better, we'll send Ethan to piano tomorrow, promise-but only if you're feeling up to it.
Loves!
