Sour!
We love citrus fruits in our family. Oranges have been a staple all winter long. I made dinner for a friend this week and needed some limes. Lily loves limes. She will eat the pulp right out of them after I squeeze the juice out. Lily thought Annie needed to try a lime. She generously shared half of her lime with Annie. Then we laughed for the next 15 minutes while Annie tried to decide if she liked the sour flavor. She gave us the best reactions. I kept thinking she would stop eating but then she would go back for more. Pucker up cutie pie!

Pretty, Pretty Princesses
We had our good friends over for Sunday dinner. After dinner the girls raided the dress up box and found princess dresses to wear. For the next two hours they ran around the house in fairy tale land. They kept calling each other by their princess names of "Cinderella" and "Snow White". They would only answer to us if we called them by their princess names. There was more spinning, sparkling, spell-casting, and smiling in our home than we have ever had before. Thanks Nathan, Cathy, and Sarah for a magical night!

I found a cute idea online to trace the girls upper body and let them color it. Then cut it out and it looks like a little hug. the girls spent two days coloring their hugs for the grandparents. It was a fun Valentine surprise to make.
One of Lily's block castles she made this week.
Daddy moved into a new office at work. Lily helped him break in the white board. Annie was more interested in eating lunch.
Our favorite redhead college student had a birthday this week. We stopped by her apartment with a banner painted by Lily and a homemade cake. Annie loved all the balloons.
Eating oatmeal for breakfast. Yummy!
Playgroup this week was a big Valentine party. We helped the kids make heart shaped pizzas and cookies. Lily had so much fun. She was very proud of her work.
Silly Annie! Hiding under a chair in the kitchen.
Family Fort Friday! We built a big blanket fort in the family room and ate popsicles, watched Dora the Explorer, and played with flashlights. Lily wanted to sleep in it but we convinced her to go to bed.
Annie with her favorite Christmas gift. She can play with the piggy bank for nearly half an hour at a time.
Lily and Daddy doing flips. Lily loves to walk up Daddy's legs and flip over.

Thin Crust Pizza
This is our new favorite way to eat pizza. Just use a flour tortilla, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce, add mozzarella cheese and bake directly on the center oven rack for 5 minutes at 425 degrees. The crust gets bubbly and crispy but stays chewy in the middle. It tastes like wood fired thin crust pizza. Totally delicious and so quick and easy. It is a great snack or fast dinner with a salad.
The kids like the pizzas so much, they stand at the oven door and wait for them to finish cooking.

Lily still loves gymnastics. Every other day of the week revolves around when the next gymnastics day will occur. She really likes her teacher and wants to practice at home. After each trick she will "stick the landing" and say "ta-da!"
Annie turned 15 months and grew two inches since her last check-up. Her weight only increased by 1/2 a pound. The doctor told me to start feeding her chocolate milkshakes. Just kidding. But she is a tiny little thing.
We built a blanket fort in the living room. The girls played in it all Tuesday afternoon. Annie's hair looks so funny standing on end.
This is one day when both girls let me do their hair. That doesn't happen often. I had to snap a quick picture.
Lily is getting better at art. This is a picture she drew of her family. Lily is the bottom left, Mommy is the bottom right, Daddy is the top left and Annie is the top right.
Annie won't go anywhere without a blankie. She has two favorites. She wants them wrapped around her head and shoulders all the time.
Friday night waiting for the pizza to come out of the oven. We LOVE pizza in this house!
Saturday we took the girls swimming. They were so excited about it. They turned blue 10 minutes after we got in the pool. We lasted about 30 minutes and then decided to call it quits. Lily and Annie both had blue lips and couldn't stop shivering.
Annie is getting better about having bows in her hair. I snapped this picture before church this morning. I love this little one! We had a busy and fun week at our house. The girls are growing so fast.

Silly Little Lily
Our silly girl has a lot to say lately. Here are a few of our favorite funny things from the past month:
1. "We're eating chickens for dinner? But not their faces, right mommy?" Our neighbors raise chickens and Lily likes to watch them. She was horrified to learn that we were having chicken for dinner the other night. For some reason as long as she doesn't have to eat their faces she can handle eating chickens.
2. Lily counting to herself, "24, 25, 26, 28....". Daddy says, "you forgot 27." Lily replies, "I know! Where is it?"
3. Learning about potty training and how our bodies work. "I eat the beans and they go down my throat into my tummy, then they go down my leg, and then the poo poo comes out my bum." If only it would then go into the toilet!
4. Noticing earwax in Annie's ear Lily says, "Mommy Annie has boogers in her ear! Can you get them out?"
5. And for some reason since Christmas she keeps talking about how much she loves her "new" family. We're not sure where the old one went, but at least she loves us whether old or new.
