Bird Nest Update

Sad news for our robin family. We found a dead baby bird in our yard while mowing yesterday. We haven't seen Mama or Papa robin in the nest since then. I was hoping there were more babies, but I don't hear any noise from the nest. We don't know what happened to the baby. It looked way too young to try flying. Poor little bird.

Pink Hat

Puna gave me a huge pink hat to protect my fair skin from the sun. Mommy makes me wear it everywhere I go. Sometimes I am not too happy about it.

But most of the time, I just go with the flow. As long as I can keep playing!

Thank you for my sun hat Puna. I wear it a lot.

Hot fun in the summertime!

Lily's first experience in river water....She didn't like it that much.

First Trip to the River

It is hot in southern Idaho! We decided it would be nice to play in the Boise River tonight.

Daddy and Akela looking for some good sticks to throw in the water.

Akela enjoying a cool swim.

Lily and Mommy staying in the shade.

She fell asleep on the walk back to the car. Good job Daddy!

Too much fun for one little girl!

Wants to do it herself

Lily loves to try and feed herself. I put the food on the spoon, hand it to her, and let her go at it. She seems to hit every spot near her mouth before the spoon enters her mouth. Oh well! She thinks it is fun.

I took these with our video camera so the quality is not too good. You'll have to wait until Fathers Day for better quality photos. Jeremy is getting a new camera - so I can use it!

Garden after 10 days

The peppers, tomatoes, and parsley are really taking off (top of bed). the carrots and beets have yet to sprout.
This is the squash bed - the bottom left corner is butternut squash, the top left is zucchini, top right is acorn squash, the bottom right is more bush beans. Running down the middle are the cucumbers.
The top of this bed is all peas. I LOVE peas. The bottom is bush beans and marigolds (which keep bugs off the beans).
This is the corn bed. Jeremy LOVES corn. He'd eat four ears for dinner and nothing else if he could.
Everything is starting up just great - except for the beets and carrots. I may need to try planthing those again. It is so exciting to see how quickly plants grow. I just love watching them and caring for them.

Seven Months

Lily has started saying "da da da." She is sitting up without any help. Her favorite food is sweet potato mixed with apple. She loves to sing in church when she hears the organ playing - she also sings during choir practice while mommy conducts. Her favorite place to be is outside. The one person who can make her face light up is Daddy. We have given her a keyboard to play with because she always wants to type while Daddy types. Her favorite teething toy is a toothbrush. Still no teeth yet. But we love her big toothless smiles!
