Garden at two months

The whole garden view from my kitchen window.

Tomatoes, carrots, peppers, and beets. The beet greens look terrible. Does anyone know how to fix this in the future?

Squash bed. All the plants are spilling over the sides of their bed. Grow little ones!

Beans and peas. The beans look great. Still not much luck with the peas.

All the garden beds are growing strong. We're looking forward to our summer harvest.

Another tooth and crawling

This has been a big week for Lily. Her second tooth has come in. She doesn't like it when Mommy tries to look for it. She seems bothered by her teeth. Her tongue is always out and moving against them.
On Thursday Lily managed to pull herself up to a standing position in her crib while she was supposed to be napping. She was crying for a few minutes and Mommy tried to be strong and let her soothe herself to sleep. Finally, Mommy thought something might be wrong and she walked in to find Lily clinging to the side bars of her crib standing up but almost doing the splits. Lily was afraid to let go and sit down and didn't know how to stand up taller. She was not happy with Mommy.
On Sunday we went to Grammy and Grampy Hall's house for dinner and Lily showed them her crawling skills. There's no stopping her now.

First Tooth

Lily's first tooth started emerging while we were at the cabin for the 4th of July. We had some rough nights with fever and crankiness, but she seems to be back to her old self. The tooth is visible, but still has more growing to do. I'd take a picture if I thought it would show up. Maybe in a couple of weeks when it is all the way in I'll be able to show all of you.

Water Baby?

Lily loved playing on the beach. But when we tried to get her in the water, she let us know that it was not her idea of fun.

First Boat Ride

What trip to the cabin would be complete without a boat ride? Lily was a little tired when we got on the boat.

She kept her eye on Grandpa to make sure he steered us correctly.

She pretty much looked like this for the whole ride. I love that little worried face. Then she fell asleep.

After the noisy boat ride, we took her for a quiet float in the paddle boat. She seemed to enjoy that.

Happy Birthday Jeremy!

Jeremy is a Yankee Doodle Dandy! Born on the 4th of July! This year we spent the weekend at The Hall's Cabin. The trip was relaxing and too short. Here's how we spent the holiday.

Since it was Daddy's birthday, we let him sleep in...sort of. Lily woke up at her usual 6:30 and ate breakfast with Mommy. Then we climbed back in to bed with Daddy and had a nice rest until almost 9:00.
After sleeping in and a yummy breakfast, we drove to Cascade, ID to watch their annual 4th of July Parade. It was Lily's first parade. She was not impressed. Maybe when she's old enough to catch the candy and wave to the parade participants, she'll like it.

After a hot morning in the sun, we escaped back to the cabin. Akela wanted to go swimming. She loves coming to the lake.

We ate dinner with Grammy and Grampy Hall. We discovered that feeding Lily without a high chair can be dangerous. She got food everywhere. It even ended up on our legs and feet after she flipped a spoon out of Mommy's hand.

Jeremy and I are both not big on cakes and frosting so I make alternative birthday cakes. This year he asked me to make him a birthday trifle. Since it was the 4th, I went partiotic. It was so good. We forgot to do candles. Jeremy was fine with that. He's feeling old. Happy birthday anyway honey!

Daddy's Turn to do the Dishes

Mommy left Daddy a little surprise in the kitchen sink along with the dinner dishes. Scrub-a-dub-dub!
